Direct Distribution

Our Red Shield Pantry is a collaborative program with the Akron-Canton Foodbank. This Direct Distribution of Food program—open to anyone--is Located at our building 560 Wooster Road West Barberton, Ohio 44203, and is held the 4th Friday of the month (except December). Doors open at 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. ID is required.

Choice Pantry

At our main facility located at 560 Wooster Rd Barberton, OH 44203 we provide food, on an emergency basis, Wednesday-Friday by appointment from 10:00 am-11:15 am and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. Referrals are made by Info Line which is a centralized intake process for Barberton. Information on eligibility is available at (330) 745-2836. Families and individuals are able to select their own food choices to meet their specific household needs. Photo ID required, proof of address, last 4 digits of social security number and birthdates of everyone in the household are needed.

Community Cafe

A hot meal is served daily Monday through Friday 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at our Barberton facility (560 Wooster Road). Open to all. Closed on holidays.

Hot Shower Program

The facility in Barberton provides hot showers for individuals in need daily Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 11:30 am. All showers include soap, shampoo, and a clean fresh towel. Individuals must provide a valid picture ID.

Utilities Assistance Program

Residents within the Barberton area in need of gas or electric assistance due to a current disconnection notice may apply once every 12 months. They must be eligible according to program and income guidelines. Calls are taken every Monday from 8:00 am through 10:00 am for intake when funding is available. The resident will be called back and given an appointment for the same week if eligible. This begins in the month of December.

Christmas Assistance Program

Each Christmas, The Salvation Army of Barberton area assists over a thousand local families with toys, food and or cleaning supplies.

• SIGN UPS: Beginning in the month of October sign ups will take place at 560 Wooster Road West Barberton, Ohio 44203. Each person who would like to sign up for assistance must bring Picture ID, Proof of Income, Proof of other adults in the household, Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all children, and proof of expenses.
